世界を見据えた女流流鏑馬の新スポーツ
桜流鏑馬 （さくらやぶさめ）

毎年4月に青森県十和田市で行われる女性限定の流鏑馬大会。オリジナルの衣装をまとった乙女たちが桜並木の下を疾走し弓を射る姿は、まさに勇壮華麗の一言。
桜流鏑馬とは - What is “Sakura Yabusame”?
満開の桜を背景に艶やかな衣装に身を包んだ女性騎士が弓矢を放ち、その技術を競い合う「桜流鏑馬」（さくらやぶさめ）。その名の通り十和田のソメイヨシノが見頃を迎える毎年4月中旬に、約200メートルの桜のトンネルを舞台とするこの大会には、全国はもとより海外からも多くの観客が訪れます。
その立ち上げに尽力したのが地元出身で競技流鏑馬の第一人者である上村鮎子さん。伝統を重んじる流鏑馬において「流鏑馬をスポーツにする」をテーマに、新たな流鏑馬の魅力を次世代そして世界へと伝えています。
そして2025年、桜流鏑馬は第22回を迎えるとともに「EXPO 2025 大阪・関西万博」にも出展し、様々なイベント・展示を行います。

YABUSAME EXPO開催概要
"Sakura Yabusame" is a competition in which female knights in gorgeous costumes shoot bows and arrows against a backdrop of cherry blossoms in full bloom. As the name suggests, this competition takes place in a 200-meter-long cherry blossom tunnel in mid-April every year when Towada's Somei-Yoshino cherry blossoms are in full bloom, and many spectators come from all over Japan and even overseas.
The person who worked hard to launch the competition was Ayuko Kamimura, a local native and leading expert in competitive yabusame. With the theme of "making yabusame a sport" in yabusame, which respects tradition, she is conveying the new appeal of yabusame to the next generation and the world.
In 2025, 22nd Sakura Yabusame will hold, and will also be exhibited at "EXPO 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo" and will hold various events and exhibitions.

It's quite simple...
The moment I saw the women in gorgeous kimonos and hakama, their hair flowing, shooting arrows from horseback, I wanted to draw it!!
And I want everyone to know about it!!
